What Is Lip Shading?

A gentle shading of the lips with cosmetic pigment for a healthy, “your-lips-but-better” flush. It can help balance uneven tone and add the look of subtle fullness.

Lip shading is also known as lip blush, lip blushing or a lip tint tattoo. Whatever you call it, the idea is the same: a soft wash of pigment that enhances your natural lip colour and shape for a fresh, no-lipstick look. We offer it at our Richmond Hill studio for clients from Toronto, Markham, Vaughan and nearby.

Lip Shading FAQs

Is lip shading the same as lip blush?

Yes — lip shading and lip blush are two names for the same treatment: a soft, semi-permanent tint applied to the lips with cosmetic pigment. Maral chooses a shade that complements your skin tone and the level of colour you want.

Will my lips look bright after lip shading?

Freshly treated lips look stronger than the final result. As they heal through a light peel, the colour softens into a more natural, true shade. Your colour and intensity are discussed before you begin.

Does lip shading hurt?

Lips are sensitive, so numbing is applied first and Maral works gradually for your comfort. Lips may feel a little dry or tender immediately afterwards, which settles quickly.

How long does lip shading take to heal, and how long does it last?

Lips heal in about 5–10 days. Results are semi-permanent and fade gradually, with longevity varying by skin type, sun exposure and aftercare. A follow-up 6–8 weeks later is included to build the colour to your preference.

How much does lip shading cost in Richmond Hill?

Pricing is quoted after an in-person assessment so it reflects what your lips need. Book a consultation to talk through shade, finish and a clear quote.
